If at the time of the pouch emptying there is no fluid being removed or if there is no resistance at the time of filling the pouch, the integrity of the pouch may be compromised. Please contact us if you have any difficulties with Vetlen Pouch.

You are able to place more than one pouch to ensure adequate exposure to the wound.

Yes, you can place a pouch with a drain also present. We recommend emptying the Vetlen Pouch and the drain at the same time and re-dose the Vetlen Pouch with a fresh syringe after emptying the drain. Adjust the dosing schedule accordingly to mirror drain management.

If the Vetlen Pouch port disconnects from the catheter completely, it’s a simple replacement. Attach the Luer-Lock to the barb connector by turning firmly clockwise to ensure a tight fit. Wipe the end of the catheter with an alcohol swab and then insert the barbed end of the assembled piece firmly onto the end of the catheter, ensuring the connector is fully pushed in. You must use surgical tape to secure the Luer-Lock assembly to the catheter tube. Replace the cap on the Luer-Lock assembly. If you have additional questions, check out our How-To Videos! Additional replacement ports can be purchased at vetlen.com. If a patient is sent home with the pouch, an extra connector/port has been placed in the At-Home Care Kit if purchased.
