Our president, Dr. Stephanie Morley, DVM, was a practicing veterinarian herself, and she understands the realities that veterinarians face in a clinical setting. That's why we place so much emphasis on "Voice of Customer" (VOC) research.
Before launching the 5 mL Vetlen Pouch, we conducted extensive VOC research, engaging directly with general practitioners, surgeons, and other veterinary professionals. We spoke to hundreds of veterinary professionals at trade shows and held one-on-one discussions to understand the challenges faced in surgical procedures and wound management, especially in small animals and horses. What we heard loud and clear from these veterinary professionals was the need for a smaller, more adaptable version of the original 10 mL Vetlen Pouch.
Many veterinarians – especially those working with small animals or treating wounds in foals or distal limbs – were seeking a more compact solution that would allow for effective antibiotic delivery in cases where the 10 mL pouch was too large. By responding to this need, we’ve designed a 5 mL version that is perfect for a broader range of applications, helping veterinarians manage infections.
Expanding Treatment Options for More Species
The 5 mL Vetlen Pouch is a game-changer, offering an innovative alternative for veterinary practices. It can be used in a variety of species and breeds and is capable of delivering continuous local antibiotic therapy for up to 30 days. In addition to antibiotics, the pouch can also be used for other small molecule medications, provided they meet the necessary criteria.
By offering a smaller, customizable delivery device, we’ve expanded the options available to veterinarians, enabling them to treat a wider range of species and wound types with precision.
